Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Rams played a fractured 2020-2021 season. With a delayed start of Jan. 3, two separate 14-day shutdowns, and an additional 5-day shutdown, the team had minimal practice and only played a 6-game 1-scrimmage season. In 2021-2022, the Rams look to get back on track and find success while rebuilding towards the future with an even mix of veteran leaders and an influx of new young talent. The team roster has turned over dramatically in recent years – due to graduation, a few small incoming classes, and other attrition – a program that had 55 players 4 years ago has declined dramatically each of the last 3 years, and will only have 28 skaters this year, leading to an “All-hands on deck” situation.
The Rams are returning 7 experienced Seniors ( and welcome one new senior to backup in goal ), 3 Juniors and 3 Sophomores. Fortunately there is a big freshman class of 14 skaters, many of whom will be asked to do something untraditional – step in and contribute immediately to help backfill vacated roster spots and build for the future. A large 8th grade class is readying to move up next year, which will help continue the trend of getting the program numbers back up. For 2021-2022, the Rams look to balance their experience and youth and skate to a successful season on the ice!
