Really Bad News and the Doppelganger:

Sorry to tell you this, but the first game of the season versus Morris-Knolls-Hills scheduled for Saturday January 16th has been cancelled due to a fourteen day shutdown of all Randolph High School sporting events. We will let you know in advance when the season finally kicks off .

Morris Knolls will be a difficult opponent for the Rams. Last week, NJ.com ranked MKH fifteenth in the state. Last season their record was 18 wins, 6 draws (two of them against the Rams), and 3 losses. They became Public A champions at the Rock in overtime, 3 to 2. That night (March 9, 2020), the Rams won Public B in overtime, 3 to 2. Brian Bobel of NJ.com described MKH last week: “The teams speed and solid defense overall will feed its offensive game which will be led by Jason Kwestel, Andrew Ryan, and Gehrig Eckoff, who combined for 58 goals and 64 assists a season ago. The biggest question is in goal. This team should be in heavy contention for a Mennen Cup this season.” MKH forward Jason Kwestel was included in the All Public A first team all stars and Andrew Ryan and defender Andrew Ryan were in the second team for MKH. Ben Yurchuk was included in the All Public B second team for the Rams.

And now the DOPPELGANGER: Captain Matt Cislo:

Underneath the photo of Matt Cislo, this year’s Rams’ captain, the following caption was written by NJ.com: Randolph’s Matt Cislo (28) tries to get past Randolph’s Matt Cislo (28) during the NJSIAA Public B semifinals at Codey Arena on March 4, 2020.

So Matt must have a doppelganger (a double), or he is very fast, or his shadow is a mirror image chasing him up and down the ice. Only Matt can explain???

Footnote: Morristown Beard is ranked sixth, Randolph is ranked eleventh and Morris Knolls-Hills is ranked fifteenth in the state by NJ.com as of last week.

GO RAMS!!!
