Cup Battle A-Brewing

A RAMS fan comments on the Mennen Cup games played on 2/20/2020:


The Mennen ice was extra cold tonight, but not for the Randolph RAMS nor the Morristown Beard high school ice hockey teams:

First the RAMS demolished Madison 8-2.

The Beatle’s “With a little help from my friends” echoed through the arena, all game.

  • Assists from Barbera, Cross, Sofia, and Harper
  • Two assists from Z.Gallo, McNamara, and Xhumba
  • Four from captain Zangara, resulted in goals for Nick Gallo, Justin Harper, Matt Rogers, and Ben Yurchuk
  • Two goals each from Nick Gallo and Kyle Barbera
  • The team shot 47 pucks on goal.
  • Gavin Einfeldt faced 18 shots

The Gallo brothers scored the first three goals and I thought of calling it a Gallo hat trick and someone suggested a Gallo Goal Sandwich. Both seem to fit.

The second game saw Beard turn the heat on Chatham for a 7-0 shutout.

You have got to know that the ice will be on fire on Saturday when the Cup will be awarded to either MB or the RAMS.

Note: NJ.com just published an article highlighting the 40 skaters to watch in the state playoffs this year. This is what they said about the RAMS captain JT Zangara:
