The Preliminary Round of Public B state tournament is over.
The RAMS will face West Milford (10-12-1) at Aspen Ice Arena on Thursday 2/27 at 7:30pm in the First Round.
West Milford (17th seed) defeated Passaic Valley (16th seed) 4-1 in the Preliminary Round last night.
Scouting West Milford:
- They’ve faced two teams that Randolph defeated in the mid season tournament in Wayne
- They had tied Indian Hills 3-3 in December and lost to them 6-0 in January and lost to Ramsey twice, 10-0 and 9-2 in the same months
- This season, their goaltender #35 Nick Johansson made 517 saves and allowed 62 goals
- Their top forwards were Seniors #17 Joe Pedicone (23 goals -19 assists – 4 game winning goals), Nick Ferrari (15g – 23g – 1 gwg) and junior #88 Joe Postiglione (14g – 23a – 1gwg)
- The team has scored 77 goals and recorded 101 assists
If the RAMS get passed West Milford, they will not be facing Morristown.
- Morristown was shutout by Governor Livingston 0-1 to end their season (10-11-4) last night
- The loss came in overtime when a freshman line scored the game winner and nj.com commented that their goaltender Shane Cook was solid, facing 28 shots to earn the shutout
- This season, Cook has 678 saves and has allowed 48 goals
