A RAM fan comments on the preliminary list of qualifying schools for the state tournament and the stat leaders as of February 7th :
The official state tournament announcement will be on February 18th.
NJ.com today published a list of teams that have pre-qualified to participate in the state tournament . The teams that the RAMS have played this season and the asterisked team in Public B who we haven’t played this season are listed by group.
- Public A: Hillsborough, Hunterdon Central, and Morris Knolls.
- Public B: Randolph and the team we lost to in the finals last year*.
- Public C: Chatham, Indian Hills, Mendham, Ramsey, Roxbury, Rumson-Fair Haven, Summit, and Vernon.
- Non-Public: Morristown-Beard, Seton Hall, and St. John Vianney.
* It starts with an R!
There are 17 tournaments now in progress before the state tournament. Two tournaments already finished in January: Summit won Union County and Bergen Catholic won Bergen County.
- The current PLAYER stats as of February 7th have the RAMS captain JT Zangara ranked 30th in goals in New Jersey with 19.
- Cole Schneider of Toms River North is first with 32 goals.
- Gavin Einfeldt is ranked 9th for goaltending with a 0.938 save percentage
- Nik Pryymak of Summit is fifth with 0.948.
- In team stats, M-Beard had the second most goals at 109, Ridge had 104 (3rd), Summit had 89 (11th), and Randolph had 88 goals (12th).
- Randolph was 7th in fewest goals allowed with 27 and 6th in goal differential with 61 more goals scored than allowed (88 – 27).

Attention: In the first round of the Mennen Cup, Morris Knolls plays Chatham tonight at 8:15pm at Mennen. The winner plays the RAMS in the semifinals at Mennen on 2/20/2020.
