A RAM fan comments on the NJ.com Top 20 Rankings as of January 27, 2020:

*The RAMS have been ranked 10th in New Jersey for this season and were able to keep that ranking as of today. NJ.com‘s comments about the RAMS were:

“The RAMS started last week with a 5 – 0 win over Chatham but closed with a 1 – 1 tie against Morris Knolls. Gavin Einfeldt continues his strong play in net, allowing one goal on 30 shots in the two games.” (The photo highlighting the Top 20 shows Kyle, Zach and Evan celebrating a goal against Chatham from last week’s game. Pretty cool!)

* All the teams ranked first to ninth in New Jersey are non-public high schools including Morristown Beard ranked 8th . Therefore, Randolph is the highest ranked public high school in the state for Ice Hockey.

* It should be noted that Ridge slipped from 15th to 16th due to their two ties with Pingry and Hunterdon Central. And Morris Knolls moved up from 20th to 19th because of their tie with Randolph on Friday.

* On January 23 rd , NJ.com ranked the groups, highlighted by:

  • Morris Knolls first in Public A. They were champions in 2019.
  • Randolph first in Public B and Ridge is second. Ridge were champions last year. Sorry!
  • Ramsey first in Public C and Summit is second. Summit were champions last year.
  • Ridge is the top scoring team in the state with 96 goals. Randolph is 10th with 74 goals.
  • Rumson – Fair Haven is ranked first on fewest goals against with 11. Randolph is ranked 12th with 22. The RAMS will face Rumson on 2/5/2020 @ 6pm. This season, Rumson has lost only one game 1 – 2 on 1/6/2020.
  • Ridge is second in the widest goal differential with 96 for and 35 against = 61! Randolph is 4th with 74 – 22 = 52.

Note: Ridge is now in second place in their Skyland Conference with non public Pingry in first. Very much like Randolph now in second in the Mennen with non-public Beard in first. Why does it feel like a show down at the Rock is in store.
